Persistent redness, flushing or easily irritated skin can be frustrating to manage. We offer gentle treatments to help calm sensitivity and reduce visible redness.

Understanding Redness / Rosacea

Redness can happen for a number of reasons, from temporary flushing to longer-term skin sensitivity or rosacea-prone skin.

Rosacea is a common skin condition that often affects the cheeks, nose, chin and forehead. It can cause flushing, persistent redness, visible vessels, warmth, sensitivity and, in some cases, small bumps or irritation.

The exact cause of rosacea is not fully understood, but it is thought to involve a combination of factors, including skin barrier sensitivity, inflammation, blood vessel response and individual triggers.

Common triggers can include sun exposure, heat, alcohol, spicy foods, stress, changes in temperature and certain skincare products. However, triggers vary from person to person, so what affects one client may not affect another.

Understanding your skin’s pattern of redness is an important first step, as the right approach may involve calming the skin, supporting the skin barrier, reducing visible redness or combining in-clinic treatments with carefully chosen skincare.
